Cory Anderson promoted to Fayetteville (SPHL)

by Casey Bryant

Forward Cory Anderson has earned a promotion to the Fayetteville Marksmen of the SPHL. Anderson, 25, is the seventh Hat Tricks player to earn a call-up this season, building on their league-leading tally.

Affectionately referred to as "Scorey" for his innate shooting ability, Anderson departs the team having registered 13 goals and nine assists in 20 games. He potted three goals on the powerplay and was one of seven Danbury players to average over a point-per-game.

"Cory is a big piece to the puzzle here in Danbury, but he's also been working very hard at improving areas of his game," said Hat Tricks head coach Billy McCreary. "This is a great opportunity for him, and we wish him the best of luck during his time in Fayetteville."

The Hat Tricks will square off with the Western Division-leading Carolina Thunderbirds January 3rd and 4th in Bloomington, IL. They return home January 9th to take on the Watertown Wolves.

Anderson will make his Marksmen debut tonight in Roanoke.
