Danbury Hat Tricks Re-sign Gordy Bonnel

DANBURY, CT -- The Danbury Hat Tricks of the Federal Prospects Hockey League announced the signing of forward Gordy Bonnel.

An alternate captain, Bonnel had 36 points (14 goals, 22 assists) in 28 games last season. He was fifth on the Hat Tricks in goals and points, tied for third with three power-play goals and fourth with three game-winning goals. He had two assists in five Commissioner’s Cup Playoff games.

Bonnel has 80 points (30 goals, 50 assists) in two seasons with the Hat Tricks. He is third all-time in franchise history in points,  second with 50 assists and fifth with 30 goals in 65 games.

“It’s great to have Gordy back in a Danbury uniform,” Hat Tricks general manager and coach Billy McCreary said. “He’s the glue in the room and our heart and soul on the ice. As a coach, you know he is never going to shy away from anything, which is what makes him such a great teammate and a tremendous asset to our organization.”

The 29-year-old also played for Mentor in the FHL, recording 39 points (13 goals, 26 assists) in 41 games in 2018-19. Prior to that Bonnel played in the Czech Republic and Sweden.
