Hat Tricks respond to HBO's John Oliver, Danbury jokes

John Oliver took some very pointed shots at the City of Danbury last Sunday on his weekly news-comedy program Last Week Tonight (HBO). Oliver fired off some jokes at the Hat City's expense, saying, "If you're from there, you've got a standing invite to come get a thrashing from John Oliver, children included. [Expletive] you."

Well, we here at the Danbury Hat Tricks weren't about to stand idly by and let our beloved home be disparaged! We're not scared of anyone, especially not the guy who played Dick Pants in the comedy "classic" The Love Guru.

So here's our open invitation to you, Mr. Oliver: come on down to Danbury Arena and take in a Hat Tricks game when our season opens this winter. We know you're a hockey fan! Let's enjoy a thrashing together, that being our team thrashing the rest of the FPHL. Tell your friends and your Last Week Tonight crew!
