by Doug Lattuca

DANBURY — The Danbury Hat Tricks (NAHL) are proud to introduce Jake Baskin as their new Director of Media Relations and Play-by-Play announcer. Baskin will call games for the Hat Tricks’ NAHL and NA3HL teams, and will also be responsible for social media content, media relations, and business development.

A resident of Madison, Connecticut, Baskin graduated from Dean College in 2022, where he majored in sports broadcasting. While there, he broadcasted games for the Northeast Generals of the NAHL and NA3HL for two seasons, in play-by-play, color commentary, and sideline reporting roles. At Dean, he also broadcasted games for the on-campus radio station WGAO and assisted the sports information department during his junior and senior years.

He has also called games in multiple sports in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) for Northeast Sports Network, including conference and NCAA tournament matchups. In the summers of 2021 and 2022, he worked for the Upper Valley Nighthawks of the New England Collegiate Baseball League as the team’s broadcaster.

“I’m excited to get started with the Hat Tricks,” said Baskin. “This is the highest level of junior hockey in my home state and I know how big the sports scene is in Danbury. I’m ready to get to know the players and the staff as well as introduce myself to this team’s great fanbase.”

Baskin will make his broadcasting debut on Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Hat Tricks’ season opener. For tickets to this weekend’s games, visit https://www.tixr.com/groups/danburyarena or contact Herm Sorcher at (973) 513-7547 or herm@danburyhattricks.com.
