HAT TRICKS RE-SIGN FORWARD JOSH NEWBERG

DANBURY – The Danbury Hat Tricks announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Josh Newberg on a PTO contract for the 2026-27 season.

Newberg, 39, returns to Danbury after spending the last season and a half in the Hat City. In 48 games last season, the veteran collected 4 goals and 10 assists. He also led the team in penalty minutes with 102 PIMs. The Cranford, NJ native will begin his 9th season in the FPHL in 2026-27.

The forward joined the Hat Tricks during the 2024-25 season after beginning the year with HC Venom. In 22 games, he registered 2 goals and 8 assists along with 52 PIMs. Before that, Newberg also had a brief stint in Danbury during the 2019-20 season, featuring in 6 games.

Head Coach John Bierchen offered thoughts on Newberg’s return, saying “Having his consistency on faceoffs and the PK will be a big plus to this year’s team.”
