Hat Tricks Sign Dirscherl and Menton to PTOs

DANBURY — The Danbury Hat Tricks signed defenseman Bryce Dirscherl and forward/defenseman Brett Menton to Professional Tryouts.

Dirscherl, 26, played in Finland last season with Laser HT (D-ll) and posted eight points and a +4 rating in 21 regular season games. In the Qualification Round, the 6-foot-2-inch d-man notched five points (1g, 4a) in six games. From 2019 to 2023, the Eagle River, AK native spent four seasons at the collegiate level with McKendree University (ACHA) and Lake Superior State University (ACHA ll).

Menton was a member of Danbury's inaugural season in 2019-20. He played both forward and defense in his time with the Hat Tricks, skating in 14 games. He potted a goal against the Battle Creek Rumble Bees in his first weekend with the team on Nov. 23, 2019.The 33-year-old last played professional hockey for the Vermillion County Bobcats in 2022-23. The Monrovia, CA, native has been part of five FPHL teams and five SPHL squads since 2021-22.

The Hat Tricks are a Single-A professional hockey team based in Danbury, Connecticut. Established in 2019, the 2022-23 Commissioner’s Cup Champions compete in the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL).
