DANBURY — The Danbury Hat Tricks of the FPHL have signed forwards Joel Frazee and Ryan Turse to PTO contracts for the 2023-24 season.

Frazee played the past two seasons at Buffalo State College, where he had 15 points (12 goals, three assists) in 46 games. From 2018-21, Frazee totaled 15 points (11 goals, four assists) at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

“Joel is an extremely driven individual,” Hat Tricks coach and general manager Billy McCreary said. “He has a lot of passion for the game and possesses a really good skill set. He is another high character kid that we are excited to have in our locker room.”

The Minnesota native, who turns 25 on July 25, also played one season with Shreveport in the NAHL. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound center had seven points (three goals, four assists) in 25 NAHL games.

Turse played the past two seasons for Nazareth College. The 23-year-old New Jersey native had 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 27 games from 2021-23.

Prior to entering college, the 5-foot-10, 181-pound forward had 47 points (17 goals, 30 assists) in 47 games for four teams in the Eastern Hockey league.

“Ryan is another player coming out of Division III that we believe has a lot of upside to his game,” McCreary said. “He is a tenacious player who was an effective playmaker at the junior and collegiate level.”

The Hat Tricks open defense of their 2022-23 Commissioner’s Cup championship on Oct. 13 at the Watertown Wolves. Danbury will raise its first FPHL championship banner Oct. 14 when it plays host to Watertown.
