DANBURY, CT -- The 2023 Commissioner’s Cup champion Danbury Hat Tricks have signed Jesse Swanson and Brandon Stojcevski to PTO contracts for the 2023-24 season.

Each is a forward who most recently played in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League in Canada.

Swanson led the Edson Eagles with 83 points (46 goals, 37 assists) in 21 games last season. The 20-year-old who stands 6-foot-8 and weighs 229 pounds averaged 3.95 points per game and was fourth on Edson with 69 penalty minutes. The Saskatchewan native also had 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in five playoff games.

“Swanson is a young kid willing to do whatever it takes to win hockey games,” Hat Tricks coach and general manager Billy McCreary said. “He’s a big presence and also has a quality skill set, along with a mentality that we certainly embrace here in Danbury.”

Stojcevski played for the North York Renegades in 2021-22. The 23-year-old was fifth on the team with 46 points (23 goals, 23 assists) despite playing only 15 games. His five game-winning goals were second on North York that season.

A native of Toronto, Stojcevski is 6-foot-1 and 174 pounds.

“Stojcesvki has been on our radar for a few years,” McCreary said. “He is a high character player that fits the mold of what we look for in a player. High compete, high skill and high-quality individual.”

The Hat Tricks will begin their fourth season in the FPHL in Otcober.
