John MacDonald Signs PTO With Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs

Danbury, CT- Defenseman John MacDonald has signed a player tryout contract with the Roanoke Yard Dogs of the SPHL. He will be eligible to play in all three Yard Dogs games this upcoming weekend against the Knoxville Ice Bears and Fayetteville Marksmen.

MacDonald, a Canonsburg, PA, native, is in his second professional hockey season and has spent both seasons with the Hat Tricks. Since arriving from Team Maryland of the EHL, MacDonald has played 56 games in Hat City. He played 43 games in the 2021-22 season, scoring 6 goals and 24 assists as a rookie. In 13 games this season, MacDonald has 2 goals and 8 assists for 10 points, placing him in the top-ten for FPHL scoring among defensemen in the 2022-23 season.
