KUZNETSOV NETS HAT TRICK, DANBURY CAN’T OVERCOME BLACK BEARS ATTACK

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Danbury Hat Tricks (14-4-2, 41 pts) drop contest 7-5 to the Binghamton Black Bears (10-9-0, 29 pts).

For the second-straight game, the Hat Tricks fell behind early. A first-period hat trick for Nikita Ivashkin put the Black Bears ahead in the first period, taking a 4-1 lead in to the dressing room.

The lone Danbury goal in the first came from Dmitry Kuznetsov. It was his first of three tallies in the loss to record his third hat trick of the season.

The forward now has 19 goals on the season and took over the team lead in that category.

Jonny Ruiz and Johnny Macdonald recorded goals in the loss as well. Ruiz sits one behind Kuznetsov for the team lead with 18 goals.

Danbury has now lost two consecutive games after winning nine-straight.

The Hat Tricks will now travel to Carolina for a three-game set beginning on Friday.
