Roster news: Hat Tricks sign Sheikh to PTO

by Casey Bryant

The Danbury Hat Tricks have signed defenseman Zak Sheikh to a PTO contract. Sheikh, 23, will join up with the team this weekend.

This will be Sheikh’s first stint in professional hockey. He graduated Lebanon Valley College this year, where he played D-III hockey in a defensive role. A Stockholm, NJ native, Sheikh has played in Connecticut before as a member of the Connecticut Jr. Rangers of the USPHL in 2015-16.

"Zak is a hard-working, gritty defenseman who plays a simple but effective game," said Hat Tricks head coach Billy McCreary. "He had a good college career and we are looking forward to seeing him take the next step in his career."

Sheikh and the Hat Tricks will be in action this Friday and Saturday against the Danville Dashers. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
