Roster news: Niedert called up to Reading, Voity to EBUG

by Casey Bryant

Nick Niedert has been recalled to the Reading Royals to serve as emergency back-up goaltender. It is the second time this season that Niedert has been activated by the ECHL club, and is the 10th ECHL call-up in his illustrious hockey career.

Replacing Niedert on the bench for the remainder of the weekend will be Danbury Hat Tricks goaltending coach Matt Voity. Voity has been mentoring goaltenders for both the Danbury Hat Tricks and NA3HL Danbury Colonials this season, with a prominent coaching background. He has previously coached for the University of Massachusetts, Connecticut College, as well as the Danbury Mad Hatters of the EPHL, among others.

His instructional program Voity Goaltending has worked alongside several professional goalies, including Scott Darling, Jon Gillies, Cory Schneider and more.

The Hat Tricks will be in action tonight and tomorrow night against the Carolina Thunderbirds. Tickets are available by clicking here.
