Summer Sizzler VI Boxing Event Ready to Heat Up the Danbury Arena

by Summer Sizzler VI

DANBURY — What has become a summer tradition in the world of Amateur Boxing, Danbury’s Champs Boxing Club is set to bring ‘The Hottest Show of The Year’ back to the Danbury Arena on Saturday, June 22.

“This event started on a small basketball court years ago,” A.J. Galante, Owner of Champs stated. “It has evolved into one of the best amateur club shows in the whole Northeast, and a show that so many young boxers want on their resume. As we started to grow there was no other place we wanted to bring this event than the historic Danbury Arena, a place that means so much to me personally, but what is becoming a premier destination for all entertainment."

Galante stated that the summer traditionally is slower in the world of amateur boxing than the rest of year, so when the ‘Sizzler’ rolls around, more boxers are looking to compete, including from states outside of the Northeast, and even other countries such as Canada.

This year’s show is PACKED with nationally ranked boxers and future professionals competing. Galante stated that many boxers who have competed at the Summer Sizzler have gone on to the Pro Ranks. “So many pro prospects have competed at the Sizzler. Right here at home, Danbury’s Fernely Feliz Jr (8-0 as a pro), Omar ‘The Beast’ Bordoy (12-1 as a pro), and Ali Feliz (2-0 as a pro) have competed on this show. It 100% is a chance to catch a lot of these future stars before they make it big.”
