TRADE: Hat Tricks acquire Busch-Anderson from Battle Creek

by Casey Bryant

The Danbury Hat Tricks completed a trade before Monday's deadline, acquiring defenseman Ethan Busch-Anderson from the Battle Creek Rumble Bees for financial considerations.

Busch-Anderson, 26, has played 46 games in the FPHL this season, recording 12 points in the process. He has a pair of powerplay goals on the year, logging extensive minutes at all three strengths for the Rumble Bees.

Busch-Anderson will join a defensive core still on the mend. Aaron Atwell only recently returned from an extensive upper-body injury last weekend in Columbus. Martin Tuma is not expected to play this weekend as he continues to rehab a lower-body injury. Thomas Freeman has stepped away from the team on a personal leave of absence.

"We're looking to fill out our defensive depth, seeing who can contribute to our playoff push," said Hat Tricks head coach Billy McCreary. "We're looking forward to seeing what [Busch-Anderson] can bring to the table."

Busch-Anderson is expected to suit up with the Hat Tricks this weekend as Danbury hosts the Danville Dashers. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
