Tricks add Scott Prekaski as EBUG

by Casey Bryant

44-year-old Scott Prekaski has been added to the Danbury Hat Tricks roster as emergency back-up goaltender for tonight's game against Elmira.

Prekaski, a Danbury resident, is a graduate of RPI's D1 hockey program class of '00, where he posted a 31-19-6 record. After a brief stint in the ECHL with the Richmond Renegades, Prekaski retired from professional hockey, keeping active playing in Danbury's adult league.

"I actually had an adult league game here last night," Prekaski joked. "I had missed the call from [head coach Billy] McCreary, I was with my son...I called the number back not knowing who it was."

Prekaski had connected with McCreary at the Hat Tricks' free agency camp over the summer. Prekaski is no stranger to the EBUG role, having served as emergency back-up for the New York Islanders for 14 games last season.

He will dress tonight as backup to Dillon Kelley, while Nick Niedert serves as EBUG for the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Tickets for tonight's game are available by clicking here.
