WATCH: MELE BROTHERS OFFSEASON SPOTLIGHT

Tom and Steve Mele paid a visit to Danbury Arena recently on a beautiful June morning to sit down for a fun, wide-ranging interview with Hat Tricks Insider Jim Cerny.

The brothers, who played two seasons together at American International College and then professionally in 2014-15 with Tulsa of the ECHL, reunited this past season with the Hat Tricks. Older brother Tom was fifth on the team with 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists) in 29 games. Steve, who played two fewer games, was sixth with 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists).

In the playoffs, Steve Mele led the Hat Tricks with six goals in five games and tied Jonny Ruiz for the team lead with seven points. Steve also scored the dramatic tying goal (photo above) with 13.1 seconds remaining in regulation in Game 2 of the quarterfinals, facing elimination against the Binghamton Black Bears. Nicola Levesque score the winner in overtime in, perhaps, the Hat Tricks signature game at Danbury Arena this season.

To find out why Steve "is a thorn" in Tom's side, what it's like to juggle working in real estate and being a professional hockey player and who won the steak dinner bet between the brothers (among other topics), check out the interview below:
